Overview
This Refund Policy outlines the cancellation and refund procedures for tickets booked through LowerBerth. Please note that refund rules are primarily governed by IRCTC and respective transport operators.
Important: Our service charges are separate from ticket fares. Service charges are for booking assistance and are generally non-refundable.
Train Ticket Cancellation
IRCTC Cancellation Charges (As per Indian Railways)

Cancellation Time Rules
- More than 48 hours before departure: Flat cancellation charge as above
- 48 to 12 hours before departure: 25% of fare + cancellation charge
- Less than 12 hours / After chart preparation: 50% of fare + cancellation charge
- After train departure: No refund (except in special cases)
Tatkal Ticket Rules
Confirmed Tatkal tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.
Refunds are only available if:
- The train is cancelled by Railways
- The train is delayed by more than 3 hours
- The passenger is not provided accommodation (RAC/WL)
Waitlisted Ticket Rules
- Auto-cancellation: WL tickets not confirmed before chart preparation are auto-cancelled
- Refund: Full fare minus Rs. 60 (clerk charges) is refunded
- Timeframe: Refund processed within 3-5 working days

Service Charge Refund Policy
- Booking cancelled before ticket issue: Full service charge refund
- Ticket issued and then cancelled: Service charge non-refundable
- Tatkal booking attempt (unsuccessful): Partial refund may apply
- Train cancelled by Railways: Case-by-case consideration
Bus Ticket Refunds
Bus ticket cancellation policies vary by operator. General guidelines:
- Cancellation charges range from 10% to 100% depending on time of cancellation
- Some operators do not allow cancellation after booking
- Refunds are processed as per the operator's policy
- Our service charge is non-refundable for bus bookings
Flight Ticket Refunds
Flight cancellations are subject to airline policies:
- Each airline has different cancellation charges
- Non-refundable fares cannot be cancelled for refund
- Refunds may take 7-45 days depending on the airline
- Our service charge is non-refundable
Refund Process
- Request Cancellation: Contact us via phone or WhatsApp with your PNR/booking details
- We Process: We initiate the cancellation with IRCTC/operator
- Confirmation: You receive cancellation confirmation
- Refund: Amount is credited to original payment method
Refund Timelines
- IRCTC e-tickets: 3-7 working days
- Counter tickets: As per Railway norms
- Bus tickets: 5-10 working days
- Flight tickets: 7-45 working days
TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) Claims
In case of train cancellation or delay by Railways, you may file a TDR:
- We can assist in filing TDR on your behalf
- TDR must be filed within 72 hours of scheduled departure
- Refund decision is at Railways' discretion
- Processing may take 60-90 days
No-Show Policy
If you do not board the train/bus/flight without cancelling the ticket, it is considered a "no-show" and no refund is applicable.
Exceptional Circumstances
We may consider refunds/waivers in cases of:
- Medical emergencies (with documentation)
- Natural disasters affecting travel
- Government-imposed travel restrictions
- Death in the family (with documentation)
Such requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Can I get a refund for confirmed Tatkal tickets?
No, confirmed Tatkal tickets are non-refundable as per IRCTC rules. Only if the train is cancelled by railways, you may get a refund.
What if my waitlisted ticket is not confirmed?
Waitlisted tickets that are not confirmed are automatically cancelled by IRCTC, and a full refund (minus minimal clerk charges) is processed.
