Frequently Asked Questions

What is PNR number?

PNR (Passenger Name Record) is a 10-digit number assigned to every train ticket booked through IRCTC. It contains all your booking details including passenger info, train details, and current booking status.

How do I check my PNR status?

You can check PNR status on the official IRCTC website, NTES app, or contact us at LowerBerth. We provide free PNR status enquiry service for our customers.

What does WL (Waitlist) mean?

WL means your ticket is on the waiting list. As confirmed passengers cancel, waitlisted tickets move up. WL tickets usually get confirmed if the waitlist number is low.

What does RAC mean?

RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) means you have a confirmed seat to board but will share a berth. RAC passengers are upgraded to full berth if cancellations happen.

Can I travel on a waitlisted ticket?

No, you cannot board the train with a waitlisted (WL) ticket that has not been confirmed. The ticket gets auto-cancelled if not confirmed before chart preparation.

When is the final chart prepared?

The final chart is usually prepared 4 hours before train departure. After chart preparation, the final status of your ticket (Confirmed/RAC/Cancelled) is fixed.
