Train Ticket Booking

How do I book a train ticket through LowerBerth?

You can book train tickets by calling us at 0431-7964515, WhatsApp at +91 98842 06480, or visiting our office at 75 Vasanth Nagar, E.B. Road, Trichy. Share your travel details (date, train, class preference) and we will handle the booking.

What documents do I need for booking?

You need to provide passenger names (as per ID), age, gender, and a valid ID proof number (Aadhar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License). The same ID must be carried during travel.

Can you book tickets for any train in India?

Yes, as an IRCTC authorized agent, we can book tickets for any train across India including Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat, and regular express trains.

What are the available classes in Indian trains?

Indian Railways offers multiple classes: 1A (AC First Class), 2A (AC 2-Tier), 3A (AC 3-Tier), SL (Sleeper), CC (Chair Car), EC (Executive Chair), 2S (Second Sitting), and GN (General/Unreserved).

How early should I book train tickets?

Train bookings open 120 days (4 months) in advance. For popular routes and trains, we recommend booking as early as possible to get confirmed tickets and preferred berths.

Tatkal Booking

What is Tatkal booking?

Tatkal is an emergency quota that opens one day before the journey. AC class Tatkal opens at 10:00 AM and non-AC at 11:00 AM. Tatkal tickets have higher fares and limited availability.

Can you help with Tatkal bookings?

Yes, we specialize in Tatkal bookings. Contact us a day before your travel with your details, and we will attempt to book Tatkal tickets when the window opens.

What are the extra charges for Tatkal?

Tatkal charges are: Sleeper - Rs. 100 (min) to Rs. 200 (max), AC classes - 30% of basic fare with minimum Rs. 300 (2A/3A) and Rs. 400 (1A). Plus our service fee.

Are Tatkal tickets refundable?

No, confirmed Tatkal tickets are non-refundable. Refunds are only given if Railways cancels the train or delays it by more than 3 hours.

What is Premium Tatkal?

Premium Tatkal has dynamic pricing based on demand. Prices increase as seats fill up. These tickets are also non-refundable and open at the same time as regular Tatkal.

Lower Berth & Seat Preferences

How can I get a lower berth?

Lower berths are preferentially allotted to senior citizens (60+), pregnant women, and differently-abled passengers. Mention your preference and we will try our best during booking. Early booking improves chances.

What is the age requirement for lower berth preference?

Senior citizens aged 60 years and above are eligible for lower berth preference. For ladies traveling alone, preference is given if mentioned during booking.

Can I choose my seat/berth during booking?

IRCTC allows seat preference selection (lower/middle/upper/side) during booking. Final allocation depends on availability. Confirmed lower berth is not guaranteed unless you qualify for the quota.

What if I dont get my preferred berth?

If you are allotted a different berth, you can request the TTE (Ticket Examiner) on the train to help exchange berths with co-passengers, subject to availability and their consent.

PNR Status & Ticket Confirmation

What is PNR number?

PNR (Passenger Name Record) is a 10-digit unique number assigned to every train booking. It helps track ticket status, passenger details, and boarding information.

How can I check my PNR status?

You can check PNR status on our website, IRCTC website, or call/WhatsApp us with your PNR number. We provide regular updates for bookings made through us.

What does WL (Waiting List) mean?

WL means your ticket is on the waiting list and not yet confirmed. As confirmed passengers cancel, WL tickets move up. If not confirmed before chart preparation, the ticket is auto-cancelled.

What is RAC?

RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) means you have a shared berth. Two RAC passengers share one berth. RAC passengers can board the train and may get full berth if cancellations happen.

When is the chart prepared?

The first chart is usually prepared 4 hours before departure. A second chart may be prepared 30 minutes before departure. After chart preparation, WL tickets are auto-cancelled.

Cancellation & Refunds

How do I cancel my ticket?

Contact us with your PNR number, and we will process the cancellation. For online tickets, cancellation can be done until chart preparation. After chart, you need to file a TDR.

What are the cancellation charges?

IRCTC charges: 1A/EC - Rs.240, 2A/FC - Rs.200, 3A/CC - Rs.180, SL - Rs.120, 2S - Rs.60 per passenger. Additional charges apply if cancelled less than 48 hours before departure.

How long does refund take?

IRCTC refunds typically take 3-7 working days to be credited to the original payment method. For TDR claims, it may take 60-90 days.

Is service charge refundable?

Our service charge is for booking assistance and is generally non-refundable once the ticket is issued. For bookings not processed, we refund the service charge.

Payment & Charges

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Cash, UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), Bank Transfer (NEFT/IMPS), and Card payments. Full payment is required before booking.

What are your service charges?

Our service charges vary based on booking type (regular/Tatkal) and class. Charges are communicated before booking confirmation. We provide GST invoice for all payments.

Are there any hidden charges?

No, we believe in complete transparency. The fare and service charges are clearly communicated before you confirm the booking. No hidden fees.

Do you provide GST invoice?

Yes, we are a GST-registered business and provide GST invoices for all service charges. The invoice includes our GSTIN and can be used for business travel claims.

Do you book bus tickets?

Yes, we book bus tickets for major operators including government (SETC, TNSTC, KSRTC) and private buses (SRS, Parveen, VRL, Orange, etc.).

Can you book flight tickets?

Yes, we book domestic and international flight tickets. We help compare prices across airlines and find the best deals for your travel dates.

What government services do you offer?

As a Digital Seva center, we offer Aadhar services, PAN card application, passport assistance, birth/death certificates, income certificates, and other e-governance services.

What are your working hours?

Monday to Saturday: 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Sunday: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. For urgent Tatkal bookings, contact us early morning.
